About Us

Our History

  • The Cape Coral Computer Club (CCCC) was formed in 1995 and was incorporated as a not-for-profit

       501(c)3 in 2017.

  • Meetings have been held at the Cape Coral Power Squadron, Cape Alliance Church, Gulf Coast Village, and the Lake Kennedy Center.

  • Early meetings were focused on learning how to use a pc and a cell flip phone.

  • The Club’s primary goal has always been to help members feel comfortable using modern-day digital technology.

  • The impact of Covid-19 has provided the Club with the opportunity to embark on a new method of teaching and sharing using video conferencing with ZOOM online virtual learning.

  • The Club’s previous afternoon ‘in-person’ format, appealed to primarily retired, local residents. By using video conferencing, the Club can reach a broader audience. Those unable to attend meetings at the scheduled time can view recorded video conferencing meetings. Also, members can attend meetings from anywhere in the world that has a wi-fi connection.

  • Members and outside lecturers provide programs that are short and fun; some programs are longer to provide more in-depth information.

  • Our meetings have always started with an open (“Q & A”) session to provide answers to questions and cover basic technical knowledge.

  • The CCCC Microsoft SharePoint Member's Site is used as a Club communication tool, storage of all presentations, current information, reference sources, and general platform for member interaction and discussion.

  • Due to the generous support of the Microsoft Corporation, we can offer our members a subscription to the full version of the Microsoft Office Suite at a substantial saving. This includes installs of the Suite on up to five computers with a terabyte of storage on One Drive.

  • A scholarship fund has been established to support local students in need with advanced education.

  • The Club currently has over 70 members and welcomes visitors to experience this unique learning opportunity.
